From Kaelyn

My name is Kaelyn. I have a mummy and a daddy and a little brother. I am five  years old and I have a cat, but he died.

A little story Kaelyn wrote down into her little note book. There is lots of writing and drawing going on these days. She can ask over and over again how to spell this and  how to spell that. Then there is Daddy’s iPad, another writing tool that she loves using. She also writes little stories about princesses and other things.

Now she is really looking forward to starting in Kindergarden next Monday!

Alex is, well, Alex… A real monkey!

Little Man

A person’s a person, no matter how small. — Dr. Seuss

This little man certainly is a little person who knows exactly what he wants, when he wants it and how he wants it…. And he wants to do it on his own and he wants to be the first! And if the big sister can do it, you know that he can do it too…. His determination is fantastic, although his actions are not quite thought through sometimes! But then he is only 3 (in 3 days….)….

Busy, busy, busy!

It has been a hectic couple of weekends for us all. Even with rain most days (it was so much rain that a new bridge had to be built at Daddy’s work!) we have been out and about!

Last weekend we went to Southend-on-Sea to visit some friends. We walked all the way out on the 1.33 mile long pier. Windy and a bit cold, luckily we took the train back!

We also managed to get to Colchester Zoo as well as going to Southend!

Mostly we played in the soft play area due to the rain. We did also have a picnic outside at the Zoo. This is our 5th visit to the Zoo, so we are starting to find our way around it. This time we met this little fellow who was very curious about who was visiting.

This weekend we have mostly done gardening… Boring gardening! But after weeks of rain, it was a bit of a jungle out there! After hours and hours of working, we could see the results though! We could even see some flowers!

Even with all the gardening, we did have time to do some jumping on the trampoline, and we also got to the park for a play!

Busy, busy, busy! No wonder the parents are exhausted by the end of the day…. Some va-va-voom would be very much welcomed!

Easter is over!

Our two little delights are growing up fast. There are times when peace reigns and all is well. Kaelyn shares and looks after her little brother who listens and does exactly as the big sister commands…

Then there are times when the two parties needs the UN to come in and negotiate peace following major fall outs and disagreements. UN does not arrive on the scene, however, Mummy does and most times it all gets sorted out fairly efficiently….

Easter is behind us, still some chocolate left due to an over eager Easter Bunny wanting to impress the little ones. Yesterday the whole day was spent with Daddy and Colchester Zoo was the destination, followed by some running around in the Arena at work and then McDonald’s for dinner. Today we have been at home all day. No major fights, a couple of smaller bumps and bruises (as expected with a 2 1/2 year old in the house….) The trampoline has been actively used while the garden got a little bit attention from the grown ups.

Normality returns from tomorrow, with school, Under 5’s and what have you… Before we know it, summer will be here….

Happy Easter

Easter is just about as big as Christmas is in our little house! Pressies at one and Chocolates at the other. Both firm favorites with our little two.

This Easter Sunday we had our 4th Easter Egg Hunt, first one in Essex, and the first one where Alex is old enough to get into it for full.

Also the first one where the Chief Egg Hunter is old enough to share equally (ish) with the Second Egg Hunter and they did end up with the same amount of loot in the end.

Sugar rush followed quickly there after! Happy Easter!

Another day, another outing!

Today we headed out for a small outing in the late morning. Didn’t want to go too far away since we had tennis to watch later in the day (go Rafa!) from Wimbledon. So destination was chosen to be the Stone Circle at Avebury.

Alex was grumpy, Kaelyn was her usual self, looking for ways to irritate/torture/play with her brother.

The little ones were more interested in the sheep grazing in the fields around and next to the stone circle…. Who can blame them really….?

Back home, Alex had a sleep (less grumpy), Kaelyn got to do some arts and crafts, Mummy and Daddy watching tennis. In a bit we will do the BBQ in the garden.

Happy Sunday!
